It’s really easy now for small businesses to sell their products on the internet.
Especially if you haven’t got hundreds of products, or a high volume of transactions.

I remember many years ago when I applied to the bank for a merchant account so I could collect credit card details over the internet. I had to leave them an armful of blood, and the rights over all the income of my first born son. (Well, almost! )

The first thing you need is a PayPal account - which is easy to apply for online, and allows you to receive payments via credit card. You DON’T need your own merchant account.

The second thing you need is a payment processing system. For smaller businesses, I’d suggest either of the following options, which both involve just putting a bit of HTML code on your website beside the item you want to sell:
1. E-Junkie. (yes I know - but just disregard the name - OK?)
I haven’t used their services myself, but lots of my friends successfully use their services. They make it possible to sell both downloadable and physical products. Cost is from $US5 per month.

2. Mals E Commerce
I have used this service myself, and it works well. It is probably harder to use than E-Junkie, but their basic level of services free.
