Some serious security problems have been recently uncovered with Internet Explorer running on Windows.
These have already been exploited by hackers in late June 2004, and it is expected that many more exploits are on the way.

The security problems have been demonstrated even on IE6.1 with all current patches (as of 13th July 2004) installed.

Prominent Security research organisations have recommended that people stop using Internet Explorer as their Browser, and install an alternative.
